Sip Your Way Through Sonoma in 1 Day

Whether it’s your first time in Sonoma or you’re back for more of its small-town charm this 12-hour itinerary is designed to give you a taste of what makes this place so magical. Expect intentional sips, seasonal pairings, and a little something for every kind of wine lover.

9:00 AM – Breakfast at Lou’s Luncheonette (Boyes Hot Springs)

Start your day with Southern-style comfort food at Lou’s—think buttermilk biscuits, fried chicken, and grits that hit just right before a day of wine tasting. It’s casual, flavorful, and beloved by locals for a reason.

Go for the breakfast sandwich or the biscuit with honey butter—you won’t regret it.

Mayo Family Winery keeps it small (just 5,000 cases a year) and seriously intentional. Their food and wine pairing experience is thoughtful, seasonal, and absolutely worth the stop. A hidden gem that delivers big flavor in a low-key, welcoming setting—don’t miss it on your next trip.

12:00 PM – Food & Wine Pairing at Mayo Family Reserve Room

Kick off your tasting experience with a seated seasonal pairing at Mayo Reserve in Kenwood. Each course is thoughtfully curated to highlight small-lot wines alongside locally inspired dishes. It’s cozy, elevated, and everyone at Mayo makes you feel right at home—the perfect midday wine moment.

Expect 7 small-bite courses paired with their limited-production wines, from vibrant whites to structured reds. Chef John Locher provides an incredibly experience.

2:00 PM – Wine Tasting at Darling Wines

Just a short drive away, Darlings Wines offers a bright and welcoming tasting room experience that feels like discovering a secret. And hey - we love their color scheme! They specialize in thoughtfully made, low-intervention wines—and the team is always excited to chat with you about the process behind the pour.

Darling makes under 2,000 cases a year, so you won’t find them in any grocery store. This is the kind of hidden gem you’ll want to take home and stock up on—trust me.

6:00 PM – Dinner at Valley Bar & Bottle (Sonoma Plaza)

End your day with a laid-back but elevated dinner at Valley Bar & Bottle, a natural wine bar and seasonal kitchen with incredible vibes. Their menu is hyper-local, often veggie-forward, and constantly rotating. The wine list leans funky, fresh, and full of surprises.

Share a few small plates, order something sparkling by the glass, and let the night wind down slowly.
